I know this may seem very generic and it sort of is, but it is the truth. Just as they say cover letters to resumes are generic but not having one will always lead you down the rabbit hole. Gaining the needed experience when trying to break into the sports industry is key. The more experience you have- the more connections you make, and with that comes your road to success.
