Colors to Wear for an Interview

Hey Crew! It’s time to secure the bag!💰Here is your Tip for obtaining that sports job!

This week we are focusing on color psychology, because colors do matter. The colors you decide to wear for your interview matters- it MATTERS! Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Think of it like this what you wear is how they remember you. It is your first impression and as we know first impressions are everything! They will either praise you or they will laugh at you- simply put. It is also important to note that the way you feel in your clothing shows at well. So, let me give you a few of my personal tips for how you can ace it just by the clothes you wear.

Tip 1: Black, gray, brown, navy blue are definitely neutral colors and are always okay. But, if you want to be bold add a little red. NOT TOO MUCH! Do not over do it. Red is a power color so if you wear too much it will not look great it will be too much. Perfect examples of adding red are a tie, a scarf around the neck, red lipstick is always a must. A red purse, red heels, and even a red skirt if it is the right shade of red. Overall, love what you wear and slay it no matter what it is.

Tip 2: Green and yellow are beautiful colors. However, they are bright and sometimes too bright. Therefore, I would not suggest to wear these colors. There are slim chances where it works out well, and intros cases it is done as an accent color. Please listen when I tell you wearing an entire yellow suit to your interview is a way to stand out just maybe not in the way you would expect.

Tip 3: Navy blue is often forgotten. Yes, I listed this color in the first tip but I am writing it again because it matters! Navy blue is a brilliant color on nearly all skin tones, and it is complementary. Navy blue is also slimming in a way that it flatters curves. It also says that a person is reliable, trustworthy, yet confident. Navy blue can never be wrong.

Tip 4: Shoes matter! Again, SHOES MATTER! Please stop wearing Balenciaga Triple S sneakers with your suits and skirts- those are not the shoes to wear. They are bulking and simply quite ugly so please select another sneaker. Examples of good sneakers are Prada loafers, Alexander McQueens, or just wear dress shoes! For women open toe shoes do not show professionalism as much as a pump. If you are not a heels person that it is okay, wear a closed toe flat. If you have a pointy toe shoe wear it. Please do not wear scandals those are never a good choice. Lastly, do not wear exotic heels to your interview. No matter how much you like them or can walk in them- they will send the wrong ideas to the interviewer so get a shorter heel, preferably 4-5inches and rock the interview!
