Network! Network! Network!
Networking is something that we all have to do at some point. It is also one of the first pieces of advice that someone will give you, but they will not tell you what exactly networking is - right?!
So, let me be the first to say that networking can be hard and deflating at times when you are not comfortable in your brand aka your self. Now that is not to say that you are not confident. It is to say that you never know what to expect and you never know what someone will ask of you so you have to be fully prepared and ready to talk about yourself while also marketing yourself. It is a hard skill that can also lead you to think you are doing it wrong. Honestly, it has taken me a few times to really master it. Even still I am mastering the art of Pretty Girls Love Sports. Thus, I say that to say that when you “network” you are essentially pitching yourself to whoever you are talking to so be prepared with who you are and what you do. Confidence is key!
