2023 WNBA Draft Fashion Review πŸ€

This draft for 2023 was the 28th draft were 36 women was added to the Freshman class. The draft took place on April 10, 2023 at 7pm EST in New York at the Spring Studios. With such a beautiful venue there surely was even more beautiful women who hit the orange carpet. Yes! Orange carpet, the WNBA loves to stand out and I am all for it because they set the tone for being unique, different, and noble at all times.

In this post I will be covering my top 6 favorite looks for the freshman class as they surely made a statement.

It is only right to start with the first overall pick- Aliyah Boston! At first I was a little apprehensive about the look but once I got a good first look I began to love the romper of choice. Aliyah is tall and has always stood out with her hair color choices, and she did just that on the carpet. I love how she was true to herself and kept the braids with the colored curly hair in the back. The wrap jumpsuit was fitting for her body type and read mature. Aliyah showed up as the face of the freshman class and did not disappoint. Her makeup was classic and fitting, and her heels had a little bit of sparkle that fit her personality. Overall, I think she looked pretty and comfortable which is exactly what you want to be on the night your dream becomes a reality.

Next, Diamond Miller from UMD. She looked effortlessly beautiful in her three piece peach colored suit. The color was brilliant on her skin tone and I loved how she wore a tube top to show off her hard earned abs. Her hair was curled with a middle part and overall she looked very pretty. To me, Diamond has the overall look of a WNBA player, and she will have no problem fitting in with her style and grace.

Moving on, Haley Jones from Stanford. Haley wore a green three piece skirt suit which also showed her torso. At first I was not feeling the shoulders to her jacket but after further looks I do like the difference of the fabric and how it added a unique touch to the outfit. I love how she went with a vibrant color rather than black or white like others on the carpet. I also love how she showed her girlie side and wore a skirt. The skirt elongated her legs, gave a mature yet soft look, and her heels were the perfect match which complimented her skin tone. Haley looked very mature and timeless in her look.

Brea Beale from South Carolina was also another beauty who hit the carpet. Now, the only thing I did not like with Miss Brea was the color of her suit, because she is already light skin I feel like the pink satin washed her out a little. But she ate it up nevertheless, the silver fringe top was a statement and the bustle of curls was everything we needed. She is already a gorgeous girl so she did not have to do much to make her statement.

Heading over to Stephanie Soares in that white suit honey! When I say she understood the assignment - she understood. The tailoring on the suit was gorgeous on her, especially because she has long legs. The suit fit her effortlessly and I loved the simplicity of her hair as she let it hang straight with a middle part. Her black shoes had some nice bling on them and that set them a part.

Lastly, saving the best for last, my FAVORITE from the evening was ZIA COOKE! Zia from South Carolina came, saw, conquered with her look. She was drop dead gorgeous. Her black dress with the bling on the neckline to her hair pulled back with the romance curls was everything. Zia officially made me a STAN because she delivered in every way with the outfit. The dress on her fit her to perfection from the high neck to the sway of her hem. She paired it with a pretty clutch and Chanel earrings. The look was effortless, flawless, and simply amazing. She was breathtaking! I could simply go on and on over her but I know y’all do not want to hear it.

But, on a serious note all of these women looked amazing and made a statement. They knew what they were coming to do and did just that. I love how these women showed us another side to them through their fashion looks. Again, congratulations to the 36 women selected for the WNBA 2023 Rookie Class!

Here are the videos of my feedback on my favorite looks! Part I and Part II.
